ZO Skin Health is a range of innovative skin care products with active ingredients including high-strength retinol. It was developed by Obagi to address skin issues such as ageing, acne and concerns such as pigmentation, poor texture and tone. ZO Skin Health is based on the latest advances designed to deliver visible results.

Skincare at Minerva Medical Aesthetics

We have a mission to improve the skin quality of our patients here at Minerva Medical Aesthetics, whatever their age may be. We feel it is important to view your treatment with a "frame and canvass" approach. The philosophy being that as well as treating the "frame" of the face with dermal filler to give lift, and Botox® to smooth lines, it is equally important to treat the "canvass" i.e. the skin itself. Good quality skin care can improve skin tone, hydration, reduce pigmentation and increase hydration. With this in mind we prescribe ZO® skincare products.

Prescription based skincare is the most effective way to rejuvenate all skin types.

Here at Minerva Medical we use the ZO® range. Skin care bought over the counter or online are classified as cosmetics just like make-up. These products are not permitted to alter the biochemistry of the skin and have limited concentrations of any active ingredients. This is true for all over-the-counter products, even the very expensive ones. As a result they have no effect on the skin below the very top layer (the epidermis). In contrast medically prescribed skin care products have increased concentrations of active ingredients and so influence the skin at a cellular level to stimulate the cells that produce collagen and other proteins that improve skin appearance.

Skin Consultations

I prescribe ZO cosmeceuticals at the clinic because they are excellent products that work effectively. Over the counter products are specifically designed so that they can be used by everyone and as such are minimally effective. Medically prescribed skincare, however, does have effective doses of active products and as such give far better results. We offer a free skin assessment. This involves a full examination of the skin with suggestions for treatment which may involve laser/IPL or the prescription of medical strength skincare products.

We offer bespoke treatments for anti-ageing, freckles, Acne, Rosacea and skin pigmentation. Individual costs range from £27.99 for a skin cleanser to £159.99 for an anti-ageing pack of treatments.

Dr Jonathan Burrows qualified from University College London in 1996 and trained in General Practice and Surgery. He has been a NHS doctor for 25 years. Doctor Burrows has had a career long interest in Minor Surgery and has worked in Plastic Surgery and ENT. His surgical experience led him to develop skills in Aesthetic Medicine and he is qualified to perform cosmetic treatments in the form of muscle relaxing botulinim toxin injections, laser therapy and dermal filler injections for facial rejuvenation and lip enhancement. He has trained in Aesthetic Medicine and enjoys producing excellent cosmetic results for his patients.
