Treatments for Men

skin rejuvenation and injectables for men

I see an increasing number of male clients at Minerva Medical Aesthetics, which reflects the growing awareness men now have about the importance of their appearance and good skin care.

Treatments Available at our Chippenham clinic:

Of course men can be troubled by the same sorts of problems with their skin as my female patients, such as pigmentation, rosacea, acne or enlarged pores. The prescription skin care products I recommend are just as suitable for men, and very effective.

Other male patients come to see me because they have unwanted lines and wrinkles. Some men have more prominent frown lines due to overactive facial muscles and subconscious frowning. These patients feel that the lines make them look "cross" or "angry". These lines can be effective treated using muscle relaxing injections.

One treatment which is of particular relevance to male patients is the treatment of hyperhidrosis, or excess sweating. By injecting the area with botulinum toxin the transmission of nerve impulses to the sweat glands is blocked, and this effectively eliminates the production of sweat in the treated area. Treatment starts at £400 and depends on the amount of Botox® used.

Botulinum Toxin has been used safely for decades to reduce facial lines and wrinkles. At Minerva Medical Aesthetics we use only the original Allergan Botox® product and not other cheaper alternatives.

Many of the visible signs of ageing skin can be significantly improved with the skillful use of dermal fillers. They can deal with specific lines and wrinkles, and establish more youthful facial contours.

Improve skin texture with a boost from your own blood cells. PRP contains cells from you blood which work in the body to help growth and healing. PRP has been used since 2006 for facial rejuvenation.

We have a mission to improve the skin quality of our patients, whatever their age may be. We feel it is important to view your treatment with a "frame and canvass" approach.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-invasive skin treatment that can be used to lighten or eliminate scars, sun spots, rosacea and other irregular pigmentation. The technology uses a high-powered, computer controlled hand-piece to deliver a pulse of light to the blemishes which are then heated to destruction and reabsorbed by the body.

Dermal fillers can be used to lift the face and reduce sagging and the signs of ageing. This can be done without the risks associated with surgical procedures such as a facelift.
