Advanced Dermal Filler Training

I have recently attended an advanced dermal filler training course run by the Allergan Medical Institute. This covers the cutting edge of dermal filler techniques and allows me to learn from the world’s best. This was the fourth year of the six year program, which only the best UK injectors are invited to attend.

The Most Up-To-Date Training

The course is run by Dr Mauricio de Maio who is a Plastic Surgeon and is globally acknowledged as a leading expert in dermal filler techniques. The course covered the most advanced methods for dermal filler use in facial aesthetics in order to give the best anti-ageing results. To see what can be achieved with dermal filler in this way was truly amazing.

The course reviewed the use of dermal filler in the cheeks, temples, tear-troughs, jawline, chin and lips. The focus of the training was how to treat patents’ dynamic facial expressions. By understanding how our facial anatomy evolves as we age and changes with movement, the advanced injecting skills learnt allow me to sympathetically restore and rejuvenate a patient’s face in a balanced and harmonious way. The key points for injection are incorporated in 75 ” facial codes”, addressing these areas in each patient allows me to deliver safe, predictable and elegant results.

What Are The MD Codes?

They take into account a patient’s full face, addressing the following facial units in a strategic fashion:

  • Forehead
  • Glabella (frown)
  • Temples
  • Eyebrows
  • Eyes
  • Cheeks
  • Nasolabial Folds (nose to mouth lines)
  • Marionette lines (mouth to chin lines)
  • Lips
  • Chin

How Will This Benefit Me?

Older techniques of simply chasing lines or injecting directly into target areas, could create a more unnatural appearance as they fail to take into consideration a patient’s anatomy and unique ageing pattern. This results in the symptom of ageing being treated rather than the cause. By taking a more anatomical approach and assessing each patient as an individual the MD Codes allow for a more strategic delivery of dermal fillers.

The desired result is a more youthful, healthy and refreshed look.

I use the Allergan range of dermal fillers, which are the number 1 product range on the market, with over 25 years of experience. These products have a smooth consistency, meaning that they can last for longer, result in less swelling and give a more natural look and feel. Depending on the area treated results can last from 12-18 months.
